Chilam Joshi Festival (5 Days - 4 Nights)

Obscured by high mountains and across the treacherous muddy tracks, there live a people “Wearers of the Black Robes” up in the north west of Pakistan, Chitral the beautiful valley in the Hindukush range of Mountains, which always been a very important route for many invaders to south east Asia, including Alexander the great Scythians, MangolSardarChangez Khan and numerous others.

Between the town of Drosh and Chitral city, a head of village of Ayun on Kunar river to the Kalash Valley, where these strange yet attractive people live in three villages of Rukmu, Mumret and Biriu (called Rambur, Bumburet and Birir in local Kalashi language), who do not even know who they are or from where they came to live a life of isolation – yet maintain and protect their beliefs, their ideology and way of living. Their ancestry is enveloped in mystery and has always remained a subject of controversy. A legend says that five soldiers of the legions of Alexander of Macedonia settled in Chitral and are the progenitors of the Kafir-Kalash.

Kalash women wear five large braids of and the ‘Cheo', a black woolen homespun dress, red-beaded necklaces by the dozen, and an exceptional head piece (shaped differently in each valley) covered in cowry shells, beads and trinkets that flow down their back.

Day 1 - Islamabad - Dir – Camping Site on the way to Bamburet

• Departure for DIR in Islamabad on Saloon Coaster
• Reach Dir
• Lunch will be served in local Restaurant
• Change over to 4WD jeeps for drive to camping site
• On arrival transfer to camp
• Dinner
• Overnight at Camp site (N-1)

Day 2 - Excursion of Rambure

• Breakfast at camp
• Departure to Rambure
• Reach Rambure Full day enjoy festival at Valley. (Packed lunch/Local Restaurant)
• Drive Back to Camp site
• Dinner & overnight at Camp (N–2)

Day 3 - Ayun - Excursion Chitral

• Breakfast at camp
• Drive to Chitral
• Half day visit of Chitral town (Packed lunch/Local Restaurant)
• Birmoglasht
• Dinner will be served at Camping site
• Overnight at Camping Site (N–3)

Day 4 - Excursion Bamburet - Jushi Festival

• Breakfast at camp
• Drive to Bamburet
• Reach Bamburet to enjoy Jushi Festival (Packed lunch/Local Restaurant)
• Dinner & overnight at Camp (N–4)

Day 5 - Bhumburet to Islamabad

• Breakfast at camp
• Departure for Dir across Lowari Pass
• Dir to Islamabad by coasters
• Hot lunch at local restaurant on the way
• Arrival Islamabad and dinner will be served and drop at Airport/train station/residence
