In April, the Royal Caribbean International ship Spectrum of the Seas will return to China.
As a result of the statement, Royal becomes the first significant cruise company to declare a return to the China cruise industry, which has been suspended since the epidemic started in 2020.
The Asia-focused Spectrum will be located in Shanghai and provide four- and five-day Japan cruises that stop in Fukuoka, Okinawa, Nagasaki, Osaka, and Tokyo.
Additionally, it will depart Hong Kong for eight voyages in December 2024 that will stop in Ishigaki and Miyazaki, Japan; Taipei (Keelung), Taiwan, China; and Nha Trang, Vietnam.
That said, Royal said that it will put its Anthem of the Seas there, with a late 2024 arrival. From Singapore, the ship will run.
The cruises are not yet open for booking.
